49% man

Our Fresno release shows went great, looking forward to San Francisco tonight. We should have some pictures from all the shows posted soon.

I was reading edluv's blog today and was intrigued by the idea of the gender analyzer. Well, it turns out the gender analyzer is 51% sure this blog is written by a woman. I guess this explains why I always got picked last for flag football.

CD's are here

We got some CD's back from the plant, and they look great. It's really weird to think that this might be our last release in the CD format. They way things are going, the next album will probably be digital download and vinyl only. Doubly weird that vinyl is making such a huge comeback in the digital age. Makes sense though, analog has always sounded better. Plus, there is something very impermanent about digital music. When it comes to archiving, analog still rules.

Well, maybe CD's will make a comeback. I mean if vinyl can come back, and even the humble cassette tape can become cool again, it could happen.

We got some good news today, the San Francisco Weekly made us their mp3 of the day. Checkout the write up that mentions our upcoming SF record release show at the Knockout on Jan 28th. For all you Bay Area people, come on out, grab a Tecate tall can, and bliss out.

New album artwork revealed

Here is the cover of our new album "hover". We'd like to thank the artists that made it happen. Ronald Dzerigian provided the cover painting, and Zoe Cobb, from Devil in the Woods, provided additional images and did the layout. Thank you all!

We headed up to San Francisco last night, to hang out with the Devil in the Woods people and pick up some CD's. While there, we scooted over to the Knockout to see Rademacher and David Dondero. All in all it was a really fun trip.

Our record is out officially on Feb 10th, though it will be available digitally starting Jan 22nd. Or if you want it even earlier, come to one of our CD release shows. Details at our myspace page.

Inaugural post and 2008 recap

Hello everyone, and welcome to our first blog post. Starting up a blog for the band has been something we have been meaning to do for a long time, but just hadn't gotten around to. Well, the new year seems as a good a time as any, so here we go.

2008 was a great year for us. We finished recording our new record, which was a sometimes fun, sometimes exasperating process. We played the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas for the first time ever, which was super rad. We got singed to Devil in the Woods records, which was also super rad. We played a ton of shows, including a really great tour of the Pacific Northwest, that I think was the most fun mini-tour the band has ever done.

2009 should be cool too. Our new album "Hover" comes out Feb 10. Look for more news and happenings from us at this blog, and whatever other random stuff we feel like posting about.
